The McGuire™ Keratoconus RGP contact lens system works on a fitting philosophy that aims to achieve a three-point touch and is predicated upon the size of optic zone in relation to conical size.
Trial Sets
There are two trial set designs; Steep and Regular. Each trial set is categorised by the rate of flattening of the peripheral areas and the relevant diameters.
The Steep set has a significantly lower rate of peripheral flattening to cater for the relationship between the radii of the cone and the adjoining areas of the cornea in moderate keratoconus.
The Regular set would be used where the differences between the radii of the cone and peripheral areas are indicative of more advanced coning.
