Presbyopia
Contact lenses overcoming an age old problem…
Presbyopia is an age related condition, usually occurring around the age of 40. As we grow older the natural lens of the eye stiffens making it a lot harder to focus on near objects. This means reading glasses will become necessary.
Contact lenses can help you to see at all distances granting you the freedom of vision you had before.
UltraVision CLPL has a range of lenses with enhanced optics that assist with emerging presbyopia while also offering Monovision and Multifocal contact lenses which are ideal for patients with more advanced presbyopia.
Monovision
In the early stages of presbyopia, it is possible to wear a reading lens in one eye only.
All people have one dominant and one non-dominant eye, fitting a reading lens to the non-dominant eye will allow you to comfortably see both distance and reading.
Multifocals
Multifocal lenses have both a reading and distance correction, allowing clear vision with any given task.
