Shoe Boxes filled with Love

Release date: 6th Dec 2010

a321572.jpgStaff from Leighton Buzzard based contact lens manufacturer, UltraVision, have provided gift filled shoe boxes in support of Operation Christmas Child, run by Samaritan's Purse UK.  We are all, by now, familiar with the superb charity who distribute shoe boxes to underprivileged children across Africa, Central Asia and Eastern Europe.  Very often the only gifts the children receive at Christmas are provided through Operation Christmas Child.

UltraVision's Despatch Manager, Julie Oldfield, who organises the collection of Shoe Boxes from staff and their friends and family, said 'I am so pleased to say that we collected 75 beautiful shoe boxes for the children this year, this is fantastic and 12 more than last year.  I would like to say a big thank you to everyone at UltraVision that took part this year and to all their friends and families for their kindness.  This year's boxes will be leaving Woburn on the 3rd December to be distributed in Kyrgyzstan to a lot of very excited children.'

If you would like to send a shoe box, you can now virtually assemble your gifts by visiting;www.operationchristmaschild.org.uk/shoeboxworld.  Operation Christmas Child will then ensure that a needy child receives a gift of love.  You are even given the opportunity to enclose a photograph and personal message with your chosen gifts.
